Xiaomi Redmi 9 Unveiled With Quad-Cam Setup And A Huge 5020mAh Battery In Spain, Starting At €139

Redmi 9 Launched in Europe

Xiaomi has finally launched its most awaited budget friendly Redmi 9 in Spain recently and as expected it had almost all the specifications and features similar to the leaks rumoured around the internet earlier days before it’s launch.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9 adapts a similar design what we had already seen in Redmi K30 which is dubbed as POCO X2 in India. The device features a FHD+ display with a water notch design for front selfie camera with screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9, producing 400 nits of peak brightness and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 on front. It features a secure AI Face Unlock and a rear fingerprint scanner just below the camera setup.

The Redmi 9 is powered by the 12nm FinFET technology 2GHz MediaTek Helio G80 chip which is dubbed as a Gaming centric SoC providing the best experience for budget level smartphones. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32/64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage capable enough to take away all the day to day tasks smoothly and a dedicated microSD slot to further increase the storage.

In the camera department, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 has a Quad-Cam setup on back with a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP 118° wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP f/2.5 macro camera, and a 2MP sensor for depth perception. The Rear camera features of this device include Kaleidoscope, ultra-wide-angle mode, macro mode, portrait mode, and supports 1080p at 30fps. On the front, the the device features a single 8MP f/2.0 aperture selfie camera with 77.8 degree field of view and included features sucha as palm shutter, portrait mode, HDR, screen flash, self-timer, and more.

Powered by a massive 5,020mAh battery the Redmi 9 has got a 18W Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. But the box comes bundled with a 10W charger inside, which again makes buyers pay more for a compatible charger. The connectivity options include a 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, FM Radio, NFC, GPS, AGPS, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, and an inbuilt infrared sensor what almost all Xiaomi phones always get as an extra feature.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9 is launched at an introductory price of EUR 139 (roughly Rs. 11,900) and EUR 169 (roughly Rs. 14,500) for 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variant in Spain for Pre-orders for this device which will begin on June 15, and later it will be sold at original prices as per company which is, EUR 149 (roughly Rs. 12,800) for the 3GB + 32GB storage option and EUR 179 (roughly Rs. 15,300) for 4GB + 64GB storage option. Redmi 9 comes in three colour variants to choose from — Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple, and Ocean Green. As of now, there is no information about the launch schedule for theis device in India and other countries as well.
