After years of leaks, testing builds of Dark Mode for WhatsApp, finally the day has come. WhatsApp is rolling out Dark Mode mode in Android devices.
WhatsApp is the most popular mobile messaging app with more than 1.5 billion monthly active users, and it’s a long awaited feature finally arrived to everyone.
The dark mode in WhatsApp is slightly different from other dark modes alternative. It’s neither pure black nor gray. According to the Verge, WhatsApp spokesperson explained, It’s a combination of Black, dark and White. You’ll notice dark gray background and off white text colors. It reduces the screen glare and brightness and improves little contrast and readability to the users and hence reducing the eye fatigue after prolong uses of the app.
WhatsApp also released a music video named “Hello Darkness” showing the high brightness of mobile devices in the night and how it affect us.
How to Enable Dark Mode in WhatsApp?
Open WhatsApp app > Go to the Settings menu > Select Chats > Theme > Select Dark
You can download latest version of WhatsApp from Play Store and App store to get dark mode.
