Google Cancels I/O 2020 on Corona Virus Outbreak

Google I/O is one of the biggest developer conference and tech event held by Google every year. But due to Corona Virus (COVID-19) epidemic another tech event cancelled after GSMA cancelled the biggest mobile event show MWC 2020.

The event was scheduled to be held between May 12-14. Google I/O is where Google announces next iteration of Android, Major updates and features on it’s software services such as Google Maps, YouTube and Google Assistant.

Google said in a press release, Due to concern around the Corona Virus ( COVID-19) and health guidance from World Health Organisation, we have decided to cancel the physical Google I/O event.

Google said those who have purchased the tickets for the event will get refund by March 13 and they will be automatically granted for purchasing a ticket for I/O 2021 without entering into draw.

That means we can expect Google to organise the event digitally and stream the event globally.
