The Government Of India has taken a firm decision and gave us hope by resuming few services like e-commerce deliveries, IT services, construction of roads and buildings in rural areas, and inter-state goods transport after 20th April amid the lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic which was scheduled to end on 3rd May. These revised guidelines are issued by Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and a brief clarification was given by a senior home ministry official.

The guidelines also said: “All facilities in the supply chain of essential goods, whether involved in manufacturing, wholesale or retail of such goods through local stores, large brick and mortar stores or e-commerce companies should be allowed to operate, ensuring strict social distancing without any restriction on their timing of opening and closure”.

While the e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal are getting ready to resume their operations to sell mobiles, televisions, refrigerators, laptops and other necessary stationary items, Smartphone brands can also soon unveil their products which were on hold due to the lockdown. This is indeed good news for people who were awaiting for a long time to get a new device or any other electronic product to serve their essential needs.

The move was really necessary to revive the industrial and commercial activities as they were stopped since the first day of lockdown which was on March 25th. Alongside this, the companies for manufacturing and packaging of essential commodities and tech hardware are allowed to operate with a 50% workforce only.

It is to be noted that the delivery services and other relaxations are not applicable for the Coronavirus hotspot areas till the complete lockdown period. While the home deliveries of products resume in some areas, the “Vehicles used by e-commerce operators will be allowed to ply with necessary permissions,” the ministry said.

It is also said that few identified areas may see relaxation from the lockdown after April 20, while other affected areas have to obey the lockdown guidelines till 3rd May as stated by the prime minister.
