According to a report from Market Research Firm Strategy Analytics Xiaomi has surpassed Huawei to become the world’s third-largest smartphone brand in terms of shipments in February. Xiaomi has entered in the top 3 list for the first time and also has ever overtaken its rival, Huawei.
According to the report from Strategy Analytics, Huawei’s sales have decreased with huge 64 %. The report also shows that due to global outbreak of Coronavirus overall shipments of smartphones decreased by 38 percent in February this year Globally.
Everyone is aware about that there has been a tough fight between Xiaomi and Huawei from a long time and Xiaomi succeeded in becoming worlds third largest smarphone brand in February in terms of shipments and sales with 6 million of shipment units. Xiaomi achieved the feat instead of its shipments and sales fell by 32% and 29% year-on-year, respectively. This is mainly because online sales are less affected than offline physical stores. Xiaomi’s is more online centric brand than offline centric.
Samsung and Apple remained firm on first and second position Samsung remained on top in February 2020 with 18.2 million units, followed by Apple with 10.2 million units. Huwaei fell to 4th position with only 5.5 million shipments and a drop of 69% and 60% year-on-year. On fifth position we have Oppo with 4 million shipments, Vivo is at number sixth with 3.6 million shipments respectively.
